NIV 1984 Bible (PDF)

16Yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!

17If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.

18What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge, and so not make use of my rights in preaching it.

Note:

Beware of pastors who charge for their sermons. Some pastors want you to buy their CD sermons or pay to listen their complete sermons online. They may entice you with a partial audio or video sermon and want you to pay to continue view or hear the rest of the sermons. Beware of them. We have been told by God that His Word should be free for all. If you are poor, if a pastor charge for the sermon. How can you afford it? It should be free will giving to the church to provide for the pastors and preacher needs. If you can't afford to give is ok. There is no pressure to give. Some of the pastors that charge for their sermon, they are too rich and yet continue to ask for more money. Is this right? May God give you discernment.
